Finding Hope

After Thanksgiving my Nephew and Great Nephews suggested that we watch the movie Castaway. Had no idea how spiritual was the movie. We all need to feel hope as to be not alone on this blessed journey.

Why is this movie about searching for the Real which is something I am certainly aligned to. Chuck had 2 things that kept him going: the pocket watch w his fiancé’s pix and Wilson the volleyball. They weren’t Real in normal state but under the current circumstances that Chuck had to endure they had meaning and purpose for him. That was all he needed to go to the next breath the next day the next thing to do until the idea of a sail revealed itself to him. Sometime that all is required to move forward with whatever means necessary.

Frank gave me a crit today and the Red patch on the lower right corner of the painting was Real to him that disrupts the visual unity of his eyes. Certainly everything I had painted was Real to me at a point in time otherwise I wouldn’t have painted it. But I am still learning from Frank’s eyes (his 88th birthday was yesterday and it was only yesterday that I had first came to his class when he was my age of today)

I broke 2 min for 2000m after so many tries and this was certainly very Real to me. Intelligence being won’t grant me the pleasure until I was able to hold my early starting strokes by 14% ie by going out too fast I would get exhausted and therefore lose speed. I am learning that efforts do not equate w more streamlining the body to cut through the water. Cedric said to visualize my painting strokes to keep my strokes as smooth and consistent as possible. Now that is definitely a very abstract idea for something that is very Real otherwise 😉
