Finding the Waves

As I was sharing w the Sangha before hitting the ocean at Moonlight beach, The growing waves were starting to come in fast and furious as the storm was slowly approaching. These waves felt just like the internal waves that I had felt in Maui the week before in my dealing w the nature of teenagers' volatile minds and angst behaviors which caused me to explode in angers toward my children as well as now w the continuous disappointing waves of failures of finding peace to open up the Strait of Hormuz to stop all current destruction and suffering. Suffering is like waves and they are just "is" w the coming and going continuously to replace and darken the beautiful blue sky. It would then be up to me to navigate w Peace in every step intention just as Thầy had taught me but the choice is whether I would do alone or with the interconnectedness of a group ie Sangha. I am thankful for the power of intention created by Thầy to foster and promote the spirit of interbeing connectedness via the Dharma.
Typically I have always prefer to avoid and shut my eyes to avoid the coming of the waves and hope that they will just pass.
Today I chose to face the waves head-on w my entire being. 3 years ago when I was an FOB coming from NYC Antony (leader of OWO) had neglected to tell me that open water in California especially at Moonlight would be all about the waves which then gave me PTSD for 6 months until I discovered La Jolla shore. Since then I had worked hard to improve my techniques and endurance and now was ready to face the same challenge again. The OWO team Antony Dragon Eric Andy was with me yesterday in planning on how to tackle and approach toward the incoming waves. The storm current was pushing all the swimmers North and was relentless. I felt safe enough to dive deep and emerge to push forward w commitment to get over the top of the waves to swim beyond toward calming water. Moonlight water volume and choppiness was unlike anything I had seen when I was doing my 4K toward the Pier of La Jolla shore on Friday.
The waves would always come and go and there is also always option to either going solo vs support from others 😊
